The Ghana hotels association, the umbrella organization of all hoteliers in Ghana recently inaugurated their new national executives to run or manage the affairs of the association for the next four years.
The inauguration ceremony which took place in Koforidua at the royal Mac Dic hotel which saw a huge number of industry players from all over the country to witness the memorable inauguration of the new national executives as well as other dignitaries including the eastern regional minister, chiefs and elders, past and current president of GHATOF.
The new executives have pledged to work tirelessly to improve on the performance of the sector and to ensure they achieve their primary objectives of reducing hotels room rates in Ghana which was the THEME for the inauguration “reducing room rates in Ghana the role of government”.
The new president, Dr. Ackah Nyameke pledged his total commitment to work diligently with all the executives across the country to ensure effective operation of the association which will ultimately enhance the performance of the association.
According to him, the hotel industry is a major contributor to the tourism sector and it will be difficult for tourism to strive in Ghana without a strong dedicated hotel industry which is the major player within the industry.
He also promised to provide effective leadership to members as well as adopt more innovative and creative measures in addressing challenges confronting the sector. He also thanked all his predecessors for their commitment and dedication to the association and promised to work assiduously with all of them in his quest to improve on the image of the association through various stakeholder engagements.
The inauguration also saw the launching of a book titled “a guide to effective leadership for Ghana hotels association” which was written by the new president Dr. Ackah Nyameke to serve as a tool or guide to ensure effective leadership of the association at all regional level.r
